To kick off the first 'Favourite French Finds' I have curated an edit of timeless pieces to buy in the January sales from some of my most loved French brands. Love Lucy x

French clothing is about 'affordable luxury' rather than cheaper fast fashion, so prices can be expensive so the January sales is a great place to start to invest and test out French brands that catch your eye, as many of the brands offer up to 50% off their designs at this time.

My recommendation is to invest in high ticket priced items such as coats, jackets, shoes and bags or alternatively a cute accessory that doesn't break the bank, but still gives you that little French touch.

I've edited down my favourite picks from the sales, of course there are lots more brands to choose from but many actually don't go into sale in January, instead they run their own ''Archives' sales calendar throughout the year. (I'll keep you posted about those!)

Coats & Jackets

A timeless Crombie coat is a must have for any Parisian style inspired wardrobe as it never goes out of style. I love this one from Sandro as it comes in both Navy and Camel and has a structured oversized cut. Sandro have a variations of their signature coat each winter.  I bought a black one last year in the sale (I would recommend sizing down) and love it!  It's made from 78% wool so keeps you really warm and now with 50% off, it makes it a great investment. If the Crombie is too formal for your style then a Pea Coat is a great option, I love this one from Ba&sh with it's standing collar.

When it comes to jackets, many French brands have a great selection of shorter jackets which look great with the jeans style du jour - wide legged jeans, so Ive edited my favourites from the sales.

Sandro Navy Crombie Coat was £649 now £324.50
Maje Cream Jacket was £359 now £287.30
Gerard Darel Tweed Jacket was £345 now £207
Ba&sh Pea Coat was £420 now £252
Ba&sh Herringbone Tweed Jacket was £335 now £207

Handbags

Yes of course Hermès, Chanel and Saint Laurent are often the first choice when it comes to handbags, but as designer bags can cost more than a holiday, many affordable luxury French brand designs make for a fabulous alternative that won't break the bank.

Many of these brands have their own iconic handbag designs that are seen on Parisian women, here is an edit of some of those designs that have options currently in the sale. Of course there are lots of other French brands that make handbags such as Polène, however sadly no sale!

Vanessa Bruno Velvet Moon Bag was £295 now £207
Vanessa Bruno Large Leather Daily Bag was £500 now £300
Sandro Janet Bag was £359 now £179.50
Claudie Pierlot Anouck Bag was £299 now £209.30
APC Demi Lune Mini Bag was £395 now £198

Accessories

With French style it is often the accessories that can make or break the outfit. The use of scarfs as a pop of colour is a great way to light a dark or monochrome look. I love this red heart silk scarf from Rouge.

I particularly love the Claudie Pierlot Cuffs that can be added to any knit within your existing wardobe to give it that feminine French touch and elevate the overall look. Yes they might still be pricey in the sale but I love the idea of adding longevity and freshness to exisiting knitwear. They could also be used with Breton tops and jackets into the Spring.

Rouge Paris Eddy Scarf was £80 now £60
Claudie Pierlot White Shirt Effect Rouched Cuffs were £69 now £43.30
Claudie Pierlot White Shirt Effect Rouched Cuffs were £69 now £43.30
